Three men come to Jesus on his way to Jerusalem in Luke 9. Each wants to follow him but cannot for some reason. One has not counted the cost. Another is full of excuses. Yet another is unwilling to commit fully.
Which one do you relate the most with?
I am probably the most like fellow number 2. I know what needs to be done, I just have a lot of excuses as to why I can’t do it just yet. People are hungry while my pantry is full. People are homeless while my spare rooms are empty. People are dying while my bank account grows. But, but, but…
“Shhhh, my child,” God whispers. “Will you follow or not?”
I’m the second and third.
Because I always think I have good excuses for not being fully committed.
Or at least I make them up as I go…
So, I’ll be reading intently.
Welcome back Chris!
I am sure your efforts will reap positive results.
Thanks for your journey.
Love,
Alan
