I am preaching Sunday on the passage in Mark 2 where Jesus is challenged by the Pharisees for eating (really, partying) with tax-collectors and “sinners” at Levi’s (aka Matthew’s) house. Here is Jesus’ reply that should rock us each to our very core:

“I did not come for the healthy but for the sick.”

How would our lives and churches have to change if we actually took this seriously?
