Hope

It’s really all we have to give hurting people. There will never be enough money, groceries, and beds. Which doesn’t mean we shouldn’t give what we have. The opposite in fact. We give everything we have with the understanding that trying to give them hope should be at the heart of everything we do.

Money will be spent, food eaten, and beds broken. But help a person gain hope…and that never goes away. That’s why your smile matters. That’s why your time is important. And that’s why coming alongside people on their journey instead of throwing money at them is imperative.

Because in the end, hope is all we really have to offer. And each of us can give that.

  1. I agree. Plus, even people who have all that stuff need hope.

It always gives me hope to know that there is something more to this world. That God has allowed me to live for something bigger than myself. And something more than this world can give me.
