I have been thinking quite a bit lately about how “busy” life can be. We tend to go from one thing to another to another. And a lot of these “things” we go to are good things. But I think being busy is one of the greatest tools Satan uses against us.
If we stay busy, we don’t have the time to be still and know.
If we stay busy, we don’t have the time to slow down and listen to one another.
If we stay busy, we pass a million people in a day and don’t really “see” a single one of them.
If we stay busy, we feel fulfilled although we accomplished nothing for the kingdom.
If we stay busy, we can forget how short life is until it’s too late.
So I have been trying to slow down lately. Less internet and TV. More time to be still. I have tried not to stay on such a rigid schedule that I can’t take time for the people I meet along the way. I have tried to leave time in my day for those inevitable moments that arise when someone needs something. It has not been easy for this Type A personality. But it’s been good for me.
Because slowing down doesn’t mean you do less. You might even find you’re doing more. Of what matters the most at least.
Good points, definitely stuff I’ve never thought about before.
