Finding Jesus In the Weak Economy

Consumer confidence is at a five year low. Gas prices are through the roof. The American dollar seems to be losing value almost daily.

Now could be the perfect time for people to find Jesus.

Now could be the ideal moment for people to understand that they will never be content with possessions and that happiness based on the NASDAQ being up or down is not happiness at all. Now could be the opportune chance for Christians to show that they are different because a recession only means less “stuff” anyway.

Now could be the perfect time. We just have to put our money where our mouths are every Sunday.

  1. Every Sunday? Why not every day of the week/month/year :) ?

Good post (finally updated my bookmark, so I’ll be reading more often).

  2. You would think in such a time when the material fades that one would seek something beyond self and comfort. But I fear that this country’s current religion one of material comfort. I’m not saying this is applicable of everyone, but do look at churches and who is “chosen” to lead them. Affluence rules the day. If only we could all learn to live more modestly…
